Holotype AM ♂, 6 Victor Pl., Kuranda, Queensland, Australia [16° 48' 50" S, 145° 38' 36" E].
Paratype(s) ANIC 1 ♂ & 2 ♀, Kuranda & Cape Tribulation National Park, Queensland, Australia; considerable numbers of ♂ & ♀ T. smithersi paratypes from a number of localities in northeastern Queensland have also been deposited in the collections of A. Ewart, L. Popple, M. Lane, M. Moulds & AM, ANIC & QM.
