    Type species:
     Tellina radiata Linnaeus, 1758 by subsequent designation (Tellena [Fleming, 1822, The philosophy of zoology, 2: 507] is an incorrect subsequent spelling. Senior objective synonym of Liotellina, with the same type species. See also Tellinarius and Tellinites.; Children, 1823, The Quarterly Journal of Science, Literature and the Arts, 14: 305, 306).
  • Liotellina Fischer, 1887 [Manuel de conchyliologie et de paléontologie conchyliologique, (11): 1147].
    Type species:
     Tellina radiata Linnaeus, 1758 (by typification of replaced name) by original designation (Nom. nov. pro Musculus Mörch, 1853, non Röding, 1798 [Mytilidae]. Junior objective synonym of Tellina.).
  • Tellinarius 'Froriep' Salisbury, 1934 [in Bouchet's genera list as Tellinarius Duméril 1806 '[in Froriep] Duméril's analytische Zoologie: 169, 343. Type species: Tellina radiata Linnaeus, 1758 by monotypy. Established for the animal occupying the shell of Tellina. Not available (no description; only combined description of "donacier", "mérétricier" and "tellinier") from Duméril, 1806, Zoologie analytique: 168. invalid: junior objective synonym of Tellina].
