Paratype(s) AM KL12102 ♀, Port Darwin, NT
Comment: Peters, J.V. 1971. A Catalogue of the Type Specimens of the Hesperioidea and Papilionoidea (Lepidoptera) in the Australian Museum. Greenwich, NSW : Australian Entomological Press 36 pp. [17] (gave type specimen information). - Telicota ancilla baudina Evans, W.H. 1949. A Catalogue of the Hesperiidae from Europe, Asia and Australia in the British Museum (Natural History). London : British Museum xix 502 pp. 53 pls.
Type data:
Lectotype BMNH BMNH(E) #982813 ♂ (Male lectotype in BMNH labelled "Baudin Id, 6/91, JJW’, ‘Walker coll, 91–155, Baudin I., vi.91.", "Type | baudina Evans", "BMNH(E) #982813"), Baudin Island, WA
Comment: Evans (1949, p. 399) gave the type locality as Baudin Island by stating that ‘♂ Baudin Is.: J. J. Walker : type B.M.’; however, apart from placing a BMNH type label on one of the nine specimens from Baudin Island he did not designate a holotype. Edwards et al. (2001) referred to a holotype and gave type information, but Braby (2012) interpreted this as a lectotype designation since Evans did not explicitly state which specimen among the type series was the holotype.Type locality references:
