Systematics

Lindinger (1943) recognized that Opisthoscelis globosa Froggatt, 1929 was a junior primary homonym of Opisthoscelis globosa Rübsaamen, 1894 and proposed the replacement name Opisthoscelis rubsaameni . Hoy (1963) erroneously attributed O. rubsaameni to Froggatt, 1929 and also treated O. rubsaameni as a synonym of O. globosa Rübsaamen.
