Compiler and date details

2004 - David Holis, Natural History Museum, London
Introduction
The second largest family of Psylloidea with around 1000 species in 50 poorly diagnosed genera with a worldwide tropical/temperate distribution. Species utilise host plants in a wide variety of families from the Annonales through to Asterales but never on legumes. Many species are gall-inducers.
In Australia, 25 species in six genera, two of which are endemic, are recorded but many taxa await description. Host plants utilised are in the families Asteraceae, Casuarinaceae, Euphorbiaceae, Guttiferae, Moraceae and Myrtaceae.
There is no comprehensive treatment of the family but an overview and diagnosis was given by Hollis (1984).
