Introduction

The subfamily names Circulinae, Torninae and Vitrinellinae used by Bouchet & Rocroi (2005) are not recognised here, as the family is in need of major revision.

Some of the taxonomic decisions in this family treatment are unpublished and have been made on the advice of W.F. Ponder resulting from his unpublished work on this group.
