Family THORACOCOTYLIDAE Price, 1936

Introduction

The Thoracocotylidae are characterised as follows: Clamps bilateral, symmetrical in structure. Anchor-bearing terminal lappet present. Testes entirely or largely postovarian. Genital pore unarmed, ventral to oesophagus. vaginal pore ventral (Yamaguti 1963).

A total of four species from two subfamilies are represented in Australia.
