Type species:

Journal of Evolutionary Biology 17: 265–278 (The species geoffroyii was combined with Symbrenthia Hübner, 1819 by Fric et al. (2004), who reconstructed the phylogeny of the butterfly genera Araschnia, Symbrenthia, Mynes Boisduval, 1832 and Brensymthia Huang, 2000 based on cladistic analysis of 140 morphological and ecological characters. Symbrenthia was found to be paraphyletic with respect to Mynes and Brensymthia; since Symbrenthia is the oldest name, Mynes and Brensymthia were synonymised under Symbrenthia. Thus, all species of Mynes and Brensymthia were transferred to Symbrenthia.).
