Introduction

LeCroy (2011)[see https://digitallibrary.amnh.org/bitstream/handle/2246/6441/B348.pdf?sequence=1&isAllowed=y] argues that the ending should be niger (rather than nigrum) and this has been followed by the IOC Bird List (Feb 2021).
