Ecological Descriptors

Adult: diurnal, florivore (associated flora: Angophora hispida (Sm.) Blaxell [MYRTACEAE] Dwarf Apple (on flowers); Eucalyptus sp. [MYRTACEAE] Gum Tree (on flowers); Eucalyptus obtusiflora DC. [MYRTACEAE] Port Jackson Mallee (on flowers); Leptospermum flavescens Sm. [MYRTACEAE] Tantoon (on flowers); Leptospermum sp. [MYRTACEAE] Tea-tree (on flowers); Cassinia trinerva N.A.Wakef. [ASTERACEAE] Three-veined Cassinia (on flowers); Kunzea ambigua (Sm.) Druce [MYRTACEAE] Tick Bush (on flowers); Leptospermum polygalifolium Salisb. [MYRTACEAE] (on flowers); Leptospermum morrisonii Joy Thomps. [MYRTACEAE] (on flowers)), volant.

Larva: wood-borer.

Extra Ecological Information

Williams (1977) recorded this species from flowers of Leptospermum flavescens (Myrtaceae), Hawkeswood (1978) confirmed that record and added Angophora bakeri, and Williams & Williams (1983) recorded this species from Angophora hispida, Eucalyptus luehmanniana (?), E. obtusiflora, Leptospermum spp. and Kunzea ambiqua.
