Family STICHODACTYLIDAE Andres, 1883

 

Diagnosis

Endomyaria with well-developed pedal disc. Upper column of most species with verrucae. Tentacles simple, globose, digitiform or sinuous, as a rule all alike; one per exocoel located marginally, more than one radially arrayed in at least some endocoels. Sphincter endodermal, diffuse to circumscribed, weak. Mesenterial retractors diffuse. Endodermal zooxanthellae normally present in at least tentacles and oral disc.
