Introduction
Three subspecies sometimes recognised including S. striata aucklandorum Mathews 1929 restricted to NZ, and S. s. incerta Mathews 1912 and S. s. striata occurring in Australia. The validity of these taxa requires confirmation and we treat the species as monotypic until such work can be completed.
