SYSTEMATICS
Generic characteristics that distinguish this genus from all other eriococcids are: the possession of enlarged hind legs compared to front pairs; dorsum with shield composed partly or entirely of small sclerotic nodules separated by unsclerotized derm; eyes located on dorsum near edge of shield; labium 1-segmented; anal ring small, usually invaginated; protruding anal lobes absent; with microtubular ducts (Beardsley, J.W. 1974.
