Introduction
The Somatipionina contains 19 genera, with 14 of these restricted to the New World, and these are almost entirely Neotropical (Chandler 2001: 404).
Diagnosis
Maxillary palpi with third segments small, no longer than wide, fourth segments much larger than third segments, elongate or ovoidal. Metasternal apex between metacoxae narrow, with small shallow V-shaped or U-shaped notch at apex.
