"In the NT they are widespread around Darwin and down to Katherine. Some other outlier populations are also on Melville Island, Galiwinku and Wadeye. … quite likely that they arrived from SE Asia, but could have come from many other places, including their native range in north America" (B. Hoffman, pers. comm. March 2012)
