Clark, 1851, Annals and Magazine of Natural History, ser. 2, 8: 471, 473], and Solencurtus [Coppi, 1881, Paleontologia modenese: 112] are incorrect subsequent spellings. Cyrtosolen was suggested by Herrmannsen, 1848, Indicis generum malacozoorum primordia, 2: 468, to be a more proper spelling, but it was not used as valid and is not an available name. Agassiz, 1839, Mémoires de la Société des Sciences Naturelles de Neuchâtel, 2: 42, 43, designated Solen caribaeus as type species, but this was not an originally included species. "Solecurtus Agassiz [non Blainville, 1824], 1839" is listed in Neave, 1940, Nomenclator Zoologicus, 4: 218, as a separate entry, but is merely a misapplication of Solecurtus Blainville. Senior objective synonym of Macha Oken, 1835].
