- Smaraldia springthorpei Lowry, J.K. & Stoddart, H.E. 2012. The Pachynidae fam. nov. (Crustacea: Amphipoda: Lysianassoidea). Zootaxa 3246: 1-69 [61, figs 42, 43] [etymology: named for Roger Springthorpe, who collected many of the species used in our lysianassoid studies and has made all of the plates].

Paratype(s) AM P.39218 ♀, 4 mm, Burnie, Tasmania [41°04'S 145°54'E].
