- Silicula Jeffreys, J.G. 1879. On the Mollusca procurred during the "Lightning" and "Porcupine" Expeditions 1869-1870. Proceedings of the Zoological Society of London (2): 554-588 [573] [when Jeffreys introduced the name Silicula, he said that he was establishing it as a substitute for Phaseolus, "so well known in Botany", and which he regarded as not having been validly established. However, Phaseolus was established with a description and a type species (P. ovatus "Jeffr. ms") different from the type species of Silicula].
