Species Setodyschirius zonatus (Putzeys, 1868)

Introduction

Setodyschirius zonatus is a relatively rare species; most specimens formerly identified as S. zonatus are misidentified and, are mostly S. pseudozonatus sp. nov. or S. macleayi (Sloane, 1896). For example, Moore et al. (1987: 79) quoted S. zonatus from ‘QLD, 60 mi. of Weipa’. One specimen with this locality label identified by Moore was examined and actually represents S. macleayi (Bulirsch 2011).
