• Scyphoproctus towraiensis Doyle, S. 1991. Setal type and distribution in two Australian species of Scyphoproctus (Polychaeta, Capitellidae) and three other capitellids, with a description of Scyphoproctus towraiensis sp. n. Zoologica Scripta 20: 263-275 [268-271].

  Type data:

   Holotype AM W202575 (complete, but in 2 pieces), Towra Point, Botany Bay, NSW [34°0'10"S, 151°10'E].
  Paratype(s) USNM 139310 1 specimen (head and 4-5 segments missing); BMNH ZB 1988.15 1 specimen (complete); AM W202576 1 specimen on SEM stub; AM W19569-19573 15 specimens on SEM stubs (All paratypes from same locality as the holotype).

Usually found associated with Zostera capricorni seagrass.
