Comment: A single specimen of this beetle was collected somewhere along the east coast of New Holland by Sir Joseph Banks during the voyage of the Endeavour (1768-1771). Davis (1986) considers that the exact type locality for this species is most probably Endeavour River, at present day Cooktown, taking into consideration the route taken up the east coast, the likely collecting localities (Botany Bay, Bustard Bay, Thirsty Bay and Endeavour River) and the currently known distribution of the species. - Sclerocyphon bicolor Carter, H.J. 1935.
