Remarks
The systematic position of this genus has been controversial. Monro (1939) and Hartman (1964) synonymised Salvatoria with Syllides, whilst Fauvel (1923) and Kudenov & Harris (1995) synonymised it with Brania. San Martin plans to move some species from Brania to Salvatoria in an upcoming paper on Australian material, but until that is published those species (longisetosa, opisthodentata and quadrioculata) will remain as Brania in this database.
