Introduction

Stylopidae are the largest family of Strepsiptera and are in need of detailed revision. Males have mandibles, 4-segmented tarsi, and 4–6-segmented antennae. Females have the brood canal opening ventrally, the head less than half as long as the cephalothorax, and the cephalothorax sclerotised.

Two genera and four species are recorded from Australia. They have been reared from wasps or bees.
