Family STIGMOCHEYLIDAE Kethley, 1990
Introduction
Species in the rare and little-known family Stigmocheylidae are predators that have been collected from soil and litter in Europe, North America, and North Africa (Walter et al. 2009). Only four species are known, in a single genus (Bochkov 2008). The family is represented in Australia by an unidentified species of Stigmocheylus reported by Norton & Kinnear (1999). Bochkov (2008) attributed the family name Stigmocheylidae to Berlese, but this name was not used until Kethley (1990).
