Diagnosis

Polymorphic: massive, encrusting, ear-shaped, foliated, cup- to vase-shaped or flabellate; desmas are thorny or tuberculated rhizoclones; ectosomal spicules when present are various acanthorhabds/strongyles, styles or smooth strongyloxeas; microscleres when present are spinose sigmaspires.
