Introduction
Sacculinidae are the most typical rhizocephan family and the most frequently recognised. All are parasites evident under the abdomen of brachyuran crabs. Thier biology, complex life history and systematics were dealt with by Høeg & Lützen (1995, 1996) and by Høeg (1995). Three of six described genera are represented in Australian waters.
