Species Rugalucina munda A. Adams, 1856

Miscellaneous Literature Names

  • Pillucina vietnamica Zorina, 1978 [a misidentification: previously considered to be a wide ranging Indo-west Pacific species, Taylor & Glover (2019) presented evidence suggesting P. vietnamica consisted of three separate species and applied the name R. munda to Australian records].

Introduction

Previously considered to be unrecognisable by Hedley (1913), due to the absence of type material and an ambiguous description, and then a synonym of Ctena bella due to incorrect assignation of types. More recently found to be valid following recognition of original type material, and the name applied to Australian specimens previously placed in Pillucina vietnamica Zorina, 1978. See Taylor and Glover (2019) for details.
