Annales de la Société Entomologique de France ns 4: 435–453 incorrectly give Probrachystomella bonariensis Rapoport, 1962 as type species].

Aust. 4: 1–399 (108) this species is a true Brachystomella Ågren, 1903, hence Probrachystomella Salmon, 1964 is a junior synonym of Brachystomella Ågren, 1903].
