Family ROSENSTEINIIDAE Cooreman, 1954

Introduction
Most of the 46 known species of Rosensteiniidae are found in bat guano, but some have diversified into other habitats, including commensal associations with cockroaches and earwigs (OConnor 2009). Some species have been found attached to the fur or skin of bats, but the nature of this relationship has not been established (OConnor & Reisen 1978). Two of the four Australian species, in the genus Nycteriglyphus, are typical for the family in occurring in guano and on bats. The other two species are in two monotypic genera, with an unusual host association with beetles in the family Tenebrionidae (Haitlinger 2000).
