Tretodictyidae of thick-walled cup shape with wide labyrinthic schizorhyses opening dermally and atrially by rounded
apertures; external dictyonal skeleton hypersilicified as a crust-like cortex; lacking a dermal spicule lattice; spicules: thin uncinates, strongyloscopules and long-principalled strongylhexasters.
