Lectotype AM M1070A skin & skull, George Gill Range, NT. - Leggadina hermannsburgensis brazenori Troughton, E. le G. 1937. The status of 'Mus' novaehollandiae Waterhouse, and allied forms. Records of the Australian Museum 20: 185-190 [187] [the holotype was collected by the Blandowski Expedition to North-western Victoria in 1856–1857 and it could have come from NSW, VIC, or SA].

Holotype NMV C984 skin & skull (the holotype is the specimen identified by Troughton, op. cit., p. 188 as the 'Lectotype' of L. h. brazenori), the region of the junction of the Murray and Darling River, NSW (as near the junction of the Murray and Darling Rivers, Victoria).Type locality references:
