Syntype(s) NMV F40110 (syntype was selected by Jensz & Smith (1969) but there is some confusion about Spencer's label data for this specimen, for example locality is 'Gayndah'; specimen was re-examined by Jamieson (2000), who concluded there is sufficient similarity in the genital field for the specimen to be consistent with Spencer's Megascolex illidgei), Cooran, Queensland [26°20'S 152°50'E].
