Adult: volant.

Larval mouthparts indicate predaceous habit.

 

Diagnosis

Body dark brown, with brown or golden brown hairs and scales; thoracic pleura grey pruinose. Legs pale brown. Antenna1 flagellum uniformly brown in female, with clear basal sections in male. Wing normal or with a few scales on membrane close to m-cu.
Male genitalia. Coxites and styles dark brown. Style with 1-2 long setae externally near base and another on tergal surface near internal margin, at c. 1/4 length to apex; a variable number of shorter setae associated with these on basal half of shaft, and a cluster of numerous minute setulae near apex. Valves with long, unbranched arms projecting tergad, each terminating in a broad, rounded, knob-like apex, with a row of 2-4 strong teeth on shaft immediately basal to knob. Tergite 9 slightly emarginate.
