Introduction

All the Australian species previously assigned to Corticacarus are now placed in Procorticacarus, following Cramer & Cook (1998) and Harvey (1998). In addition to the species listed here, an unidentified species of Procorticacarus was reported by Proctor (2001), Boulton & Harvey (2003) and Boulton et al. (2004). Unidentified species of Corticacarus were also reported by Malipatil & Blyth (1982) and Storey et al. (1993). The fauna of Australasia was reviewed by Smit (2015).
