Species Porpita porpita (Linnaeus, 1758)

Introduction

This is the only Porpita species known to occur in Australia. It has been widely recorded.

States

New South Wales, Northern Territory, Queensland, Western Australia


Ecological Descriptors

Size of float is 2 - 5cm: planktonic.

Colonial, hermaphrodite.
