[308] (Note #642 (on Plusia rogationis): Plusia rogationis was described from diverse collections and originating in Australia, North America and Colombia. Hampson (1913b) and numerous subsequent authors treated P. rogationis as conspecific with Plusia includens Walker, [1858], described from the Dominican Republic. Eichlin and Cunningham (1978) selected, from the many syntypes, a specimenon Chrysodeixis eriosoma (Doubleday, 1843) from Australia as lectotype and thereby entirely changed the sense in which the name P. rogationis had been used. This was done to ensure that P. rogationis remained a junior synonym and did not upset established nomenclature)
