Introduction

The shells of Pleurodiscus resembles those of some charopids, but lacks the complex secondary sculpture between the radial ribs. A single introduced species has been recorded from Australia.

 

Diagnosis

Shell medium-sized, discoidal with a low domed spire in adults and sculptured with numerous prominent radial ribs; whorls shouldered in juveniles but rounded to keeled in adults; lip thin, umbilicus medium. Colour pale golden-brown.
