Diagnosis

Trunk and legs robust, cephalic segment wider than long, usually not prolonged forward; ocular tubercle low, blunt; chelifores similar to Anoplodactylus; palps lacking; ovigers sometimes 5- usually 6-segmented, in males only, 2nd segment usually equal to 3rd, terminal segment usually smooth; legs typical, auxiliary claws large or lacking in some species, as long as main claw diameter or longer, placed distal to main claw. Cement gland outlets usually row of small dorsal pores.

 

Taxonomic Notes

Phoxichilidium charybdaeus Haswell, 1884 was described from a juvenile and according to Clark (1963) is considered to be incertae sedis at this time. Clark (1963) also notes that this species is not the same as Endeis charybdaeus (Dohrn, 1881).
