Subfamily: Coccinae. Tribe: Saissetiini. The type species of Parthenolecanium was selected by subsequent designation in Opinion 1303 (1985) of the International Commission on Zoological Nomenclature, following the application of Danzig, E.M. & Kerzhner, I.M. 1981. Coccus Linnaeus, 1758 and Parthenolecanium Sulc, 1908 (Insecta, Homoptera, Coccidae): Proposed designation of type species under the plenary powers Z.N.(S) 2125.
