Genus Paravahlkampfia Brown & De Jonckheere, 1999
Diagnosis
Small to medium sized amoebae moving by eruptive protrusions from a hemispherical anterior lobopodium. No flagellate stage known. Cysts spherical when mononucleate, but often multinucleate and ovoid or reniform; no excystment pores. Marked sequence divergence from (and not monophyletic with) Vahlkampfia.
