Taxonomic Notes
Whitelegge (1889) lists a Pallene chiragra Milne Edwards from Port Jackson and from Jervis Bay. According to Clark (1963), the type specimen for P. chiragra has been lost and he considers it likely that P. chiragra had originally been described from a female of Parapallene australiensis.
