Genus Paraleia Tonnoir, 1929

Introduction

Tonnoir described genus Paraleia in the Family Mycetophilidae in 1929. Armbruster (1938) proposed the genus name Paraleia also in family Mycetophilidae. This name is pre-occupied by Paraleia Tonnoir 1929.
Armbruster did not designate a type species or provide a diagnosis. In 1944 a compiler at the Imperial Institute of Entomology designated Paraleia rhymosoides as type species.
Evenhuis (1994) recognised the pre-occupation and renamed the genus Armbrustelia.
Evenhuis et al (2008) noted that the genus group name Paraleia Armbruster is a nomen nudum, being proposed post-1930 without designation of a type species from the 2 included species, but did not mention that the name was preoccupied.
