Introduction

Paralaoma is characterised by a minute shell that has a combination of coarse radial sculpture with fine underlying spiral threads, moderately raised spire and comparatively wide, V-shaped umbilicus.

Diagnosis

Shells minute to very small, depressedly turbinate to trochoidal; spire elevated; whorls rounded to shouldered; protoconch with widely spaced spiral cords, teleoconch sculpture of closely to widely spaced radial ribs, microsculpture of radial growth threads and fine spiral lirae; umbilicus wide to narrow. Colour waxy brown.
