Records of the Australian Museum 34(1): 1-357 figs 1-95 [52]. - Palaemon diversimanus Olivier, A.G. 1811. Palémon. pp. 652-667 in Olivier, A.G. (ed.). Encyclopédie Méthodique. Histoire Naturelle. Insectes. Paris : H. Agasse Vol. 8 722 pp. [663] [despite having page priority over P. villosus, Banner & Banner (1982: 52) listed this species as a junior synonym without comment, but presumably because the type specimens are lost, the type locality is vague, and the specific differences from the well known P. villosus are unclear; this action can be considered that of first reviser, and thus Palaemon villosus named on the next page of the same work is to be considered the senior name (Davie, P. 2002. Crustacea: Malacostraca: Phyllocarida, Hoplocarida, Eucarida (Part 1). In Wells, A. & Houston, W.W.K. (eds) Zoological Catalogue of Australia. Vol. 19.3A. Melbourne : CSIRO Publishing, Australia xii 551 pp. [201])].
