Family PUNCTORIBATIDAE Thor, 1937
Introduction
The Australian Punctoribatidae are very poorly known, with only one identified species in each of three genera, and records of unidentified species in a further three genera. The family now includes the species previously placed in the Mycobatidae, to make a cosmopolitan family of about 12 genera and 60 species. The taxonomy of Punctoribatidae and related families is very unstable, and different authors have used different family-level classifications. The classification of the Ceratozetoidea will continue to change in response to further research (for example Coetzee, 2015; Ermilov, 2016).
