Introduction
The family Psychropotidae is widespread. It includes three genera, two of which is represented in Australian waters by five species.
This family is distinguished from others in the order Elasipodida by the following combination of character states: ossicles include cross-shaped rods with dorsal apophyses; mid ventral pedicels; ventro-lateral edge of body defined by brim of fused pedicels.
