Order POLYZONIIDA Cook, 1895
Introduction
Polyzoniidans are typically hemispherical in body cross-section, i.e. convex above and flat beneath. The head narrows anteriorly, the mouthparts are greatly reduced and the antennae are typically short and stout (Hoffman 1982). The order Polyzoniida has a nearly worldwide distribution and currently comprises two suborders (Hoffman 1980).
