Family PERLOHMANNIIDAE Grandjean, 1954

Introduction

The family Perlohmanniidae is small, with only two genera and ten species world-wide (Schatz et al. 2011). Species in this family occur in forest litter and soil in Europe, Asia and North America (Norton & Behan-Pelletier 2009; Subias 2011). The family is known from Australia only on the basis of a single record of an unidentified species of Apolohmannia by Heatwole et al. (1981). The family is otherwise Holarctic, so this record must be considered as questionable.
