SYSTEMATICS
Generic characteristics that distinguish this genus from all other eriococcids are: anal ring invaginated in long tube, containing at least 100 pores; posterior abdominal segments heavily sclerotized and fused into pygidium- like structure; legs absent, hind legs represented by pore plate (Miller, F. 1999. Take control of scale infestations. American Nurseryman 190(10): 14; personal observations).
