Introduction
This is a small subfamily of fairly distinctive braconids based on their wing venation (second submarginal cell absent and vein 3Rs straight) and a long ovipositor in females.
The group is worldwide in distribution, but to date only three species are recorded from Australia, one of which, Orgilus lepidus, was introduced as a biological control agent for the potato moth, Phthorimaea operculella. All members are endoparasitoids of lepidopteran larvae.
